Success in rewilding tigers
#1
Efforts are being made to return Amur Tigers to the wild. Two orphaned cubs were raised with the idea of releasing them to the wild. They were released at 18 months old and were separated by about 200Km. Boris walked 200Km until he found Svetlana. Six months later she gave birth to a litter of cubs.
Twelve of thirteen cubs raised to be released have been successful in living wild.

This is great news for endangered big cats. If orphans can be raised and returned to the wild there is a chance of restoring tigers to their natural territory.
It means there are good options for orphaned animals. Just having twelve more tigers in the wild is a big step.
It is also very sweet that Boris loved Svetlana so much that he walked 200Km to be with her. Heart
