Emotional support pig needs a home
#1
Truffles is a 10 year old pot bellied pig, who at 300 pounds is over weight. He has been an emotional support pig, but now he needs a home.

If Truffles was an emotional support pig, why is he now at an animal shelter?
When working dogs are retired, they don't end up at animal shelters.
Maybe we need to look at what animals we use as support animals.
Few people would be able to take a pig, especially one so over weight.
He could go to a sanctuary, but he has lived in a home. I doubt he would be happy living as a pig, with other pigs.
I  am not saying that a variety of animals should not be used as support animals, but we should consider if it is right for the animal.
If that animal is going to end up in a shelter, it  might not be the best choice as a service animal.
