A veterinarian in Ontario created a special veterinary service. When the only thing left you can do for your pet is euthanasia, that last trip to a vet clinic is very stressful. It is hard on the pet and hard on the people who love the pet. Dr Susan Baily came up with the idea of Peaceful Passing. She goes to the home and makes it a calm gentle experience. Losing a pet is hard enough with out having added stress. At home, the pet and family are in a familiar space. It is hard to let go, but it can also be a peaceful experience. The pet quietly leaves this life in a familiar place, surrounded by love. The family's last memory of the pet will be gentle and loving. Euthanasia is never going to be easy, but it can be kinder and easier. That is what Peaceful passing is about.

This is a very kind and loving way to help people deal with losing a pet.
I think there are other vets in different cities who have similar services.
It allows people privacy at a very difficult time and it lets a pet end its time in a familiar place.
There is no easy way, but at least there is a better way.
