Rampaging Raccoons
#1
Raccoons are not native to Europe. They were brought in during the 1930s for fur farming.  Some escaped and they have been multiplying ever since.
The city of Kassel in Germany is being overrun with raccoons. They are everywhere and they get into everything.
The people love them and hate them. They are doing a lot of damage and they are having a negative impact on the ecosystem.

Raccoons can be a real problem. They can get into anything from attics to raccoon proof garbage bins.
They seem to have no natural predators. They can be very destructive. Here in Toronto we call them Trash Pandas.
It doesn't make them easier to live with, but it does make them more enduring.

I don't know what their solution is going to be.  Raccoons are not easy to control.
