A routine bus check in Brazil revealed suitcases with 600 baby tortoises. The man was planning to sell them.

Sadly some of the tortoises had already died because of the conditions. Animal trafficking does more than just steal animals to sell for a profit elsewhere.
They totally disregard the well being of the animals they traffic. The profit is so good, they don't care how many of the animals die.
They don't care how traumatic and terrifying it is for baby tortoises to be transported in a suitcase.
Hopefully the man is charged for what he did. That doesn't help the tortoises who have no way of finding their way back to where they belong.
