Iceland cancelled whaling in 2024. Now in 2025, there will be another cancelled season.
One of the big reasons why they are not killing whales is purely economic. The price of whale meat in Japan has dropped and the hunt is not economical.
They can't make enough money from killing whales.

They are not killing whales because it is not profitable! That is not the reason why I wanted them to stop killing whales, that is okay.
