Loggerhead Turtle found on the beach
#1
Someone out walking found a giant Loggerhead turtle on a Scottish beach. At first it appeared dead.
It was just in shock. She brought it home and called the SSPCA. They have taken the turtle to care for it and eventually release it.
The turtle should have been somewhere near Portugal. Most likely it was suffering from cold shock. This is not the first turtle  they have found this way.

Every year when the cold weather comes, turtles encounter cold water unexpectedly and go into cold shock.
Fortunately there are people out there who rescue them. This time it was a random person out walking. Some places have groups of people out there watching for cold shocked turtles. However a cold shocked turtle is found, humans can make a difference. If rescued in time, the turtle can survive and return to the ocean.
