More Marmots released on Vancouver Island
#1
The Marmots are a real recovery success. There were once only 24 Marmots, now they number in the hundreds. They are not safe yet, but  things are getting better. Regular releases of Marmots have allowed them to increases and spread out.

I love the fact that volunteers carry the Marmots up the mountain on their backs. That is dedication!
It is because of the dedication that the Marmots are recovering. A lot of people and a lot of effort have gone into saving the Marmots.
The Marmots have done their part. They have been willing to breed in captivity and the young have been willing to adapt to life in the wild.
Some day the Marmots will spread to their full territory and be safe from extinction. Until then, dedicated humans are helping wherever needed.
