A kind driver stopped for something furry on the side of the road. It turned out to be an injured raccoon that couldn't move. He called Evelyn's Wildlife refuge.
He stayed with the raccoon until the rescue team arrived. They named the raccoon Beasley after the driver. Her injuries suggested a car had hit her.
Her eye was damaged and an arm was broken. With care she recovered and even put on weight, quite a bit of weight actually.
Then after a month in the shelter's care she surprised them with three baby raccoons. It will be much longer before the whole family can be released, but they will return to the wild someday.

When that driver stopped, he didn't save one life, he saved four. How many cars drove past and didn't stop. What about the driver who hit the raccoon. Why didn't that driver stop. Most people ignored an injured animal and just carried on. Good for Mr. Beasley that he stopped. The world needs more people like that.
