Animal Sanctuary has Facebook page deleted
#1
Twin Heart Animal Sanctuary did most of its fundraising through its Facebook page.
They have done this for ten years. Their Facebook page is like a diary for the shelter. Then suddenly Meta deleted their page.

They don't know why it was deleted. They have been unable to get it restored. This leaves them cut off from their supporters and all the people who followed them. They have launched a new page, but it doesn't have the ten years of history the other page had.
They are not the only animal shelter to have this happen.
Why would Facebook delete the pages of animal  shelters. They are not controversial. They are not political. They look after animals in need. They don't do anything to hurt anyone. I hope they get their old page back so they can carry on with rescuing animals in peace.

In the article you cited, Catherine, it said that another animal charity also had its account deleted - and when it was restored after much perseverance, only 400 followers were showing.

I suspect that Facebook is interested in generating money for itself, rather than supporting animal charities. A sad story.

You could be right about that. Charities and rescues are going to need to find a way to directly contact their supporters.
They probably can't trust Facebook. At very least they could create a donor list that Facebook can't touch.
