A family in New Zealand brought home a Christmas Tree and found it contained a nest of baby birds.
The husband had worked for a wildlife center so they are raising the babies themselves.
The babies are eating well and growing quickly. They have created an outdoor enclosure so the birds are used to the outdoors and can learn to fly.
They are doing so well that they will be ready to leave soon.

It turns out they were Green Finches and I bet this is a Christmas that the family will always remember fondly.
It is nice to have Christmas company, but this is special company. If they hadn't been found by the right family, they would not have survived.
From now on, when they see a Green Finch, they will always wonder if it is one of theirs.
