I don't know too many seven year olds that could have figured out the things the crow figured out. The tests he failed, if they gave him time to try them again, he probably would get them right. It was amazing to watch him work.
I have seen wild crows along the west coast of Vancouver Island using tools to get at food. They also watched our every move and got food from every meal we ate. And they got the left overs we didn't want to take home with us. They did not bother us, they just watched us. We shooed away the pesky sea gulls because they were annoying, but we fed the polite crows. That is a psychological tool that they are using. I was impressed. Catherine |
