Feline Infectious Peritonitis
#1
Up until now this have been a fatal disease for cats.
A family adopted two cats from the same litter. Soot died unexpectedly from an unidentified disease. His brother Shepherd started to show symptoms three months later. They recognized the symptoms earlier and sought treatment. It was identified as Feline Infectious Peritonitis. A possible antiviral treatment had just become available. Shepherd has responded to treatment and is going to recover.

Even though the antiviral drug is hard to get right now, it will become more available in time. It is a real breakthrough for Feline Infectious Peritonitis.
I wonder if it will be effective against FIV, Feline Immunodeficiency Virus.  It could give hope to many cats.
Maybe it would help cats with FeLV, Feline Leukemia Virus. Many cats have died because of these three viruses. Those that have lived have struggled with health issues. If we have a strong antiviral drug, it could be the beginning of a new healthier future for many cats. We can only hope.
