Wildlife and the Manitoba wildfires.
#1
Manitoba and the other prairie provinces are being devastated by wildfires. The effects on wildlife are very bad.
It is nesting season and this years babies will probably be lost. Animals that are making it to the wildlife sanctuary are not necessarily surviving.
Many of these animals are endangered, with their numbers in decline. Losing so many at once is going to put species at risk.
Those that survive face the hardship of lost habitats and lost food sources.

There is no doubt that this is an ecological disaster. Recovery will take years.
Hopefully some pockets of wildlife will survive. Maybe some food sources will be able to recover.
We won't know until this is over.
I spent parts of my childhood in areas that are now gone. The land I remember is gone.
I just have to believe it can recover.
