Prince George Humane Society has a thrift store. It is a fund raiser for the shelter. Any money raised goes towards animal care.
They just had an experience of someone dropping off a lot of stuff when the shelter was not receiving items. It was a truckload of stuff and it was all garbage.
Seriously, it was garbage. It will cost the shelter money to dispose of the garbage.

It wasn't really a donation. They were using the shelter for free garbage disposal of things they didn't want to pay to get rid of.
It ended up costing the shelter. That is a terrible thing to do. If you can't help the shelter, at least leave them alone.
They don't need that kind of help.
It goes without saying, but I will say it anyhow, don't drop off junk at any other charity.
They don't want garbage, they don't need garbage. They certainly don't want to pay to get rid of your garbage.
