If you do consider getting a second dog to replace the kitten, could I make a suggestion? Why not ask if you can have the dog for a day's trial, so that you can see how they get on together? I'm sorry that Elsa and Charlie didn't get on.

Oh! I was so carried away by Elsa's picture and posted too quickly....now I read that they didn't get along after all. I'm so sorry it didn't work out with Elsa. She is such a sweetie, and I'm certain will find a new loving home very quickly.
I think that is a very sensible suggestion LPC. I am sure a one day visit should show whether a new pup and Charlie will grow to be friends or not.

Yes, a very good idea, LPC. Another thing to remember most new introductions will take time and patience. Even new puppies [not from the same littler] will have a period of "getting to know you".

Maybe the puppies could meet on neutral ground, like a nearby park.
Of course Charlie is still a new puppy so he might be glad to see another puppy.
