I think petitions show how much interest there is. It is good to know how strong public opinion is in a case like this. However getting the dog home is more likely a job for diplomats or special forces. Whatever is being done will be secret until it is safely accomplished.
We just have to keep up our vigil of hope until the Colonel comes home.

Although they are probably doing their own thing right now....I got together a petition for Colonel:
Addressed to the UK Secretary of State for Defence.
Rescue Colonel the Dog
"NO SOLDIER LEFT BEHIND"

I am glad you did this. We can't do too much to help Colonel. I wish we knew how he is right now. On some level we will worry until we know he is safe.
I hope he is at least being fed properly and treated with respect.
