Improvements at Roswell Shelter
#6
Quote:Yes, organizing the rescue places should help shelter animals some what. Suzy's time was up at the kennel when the Animal Protective League stepped in and took her. Then I took her about a week later. I was looking for a gentle, calm dog and Suzy is just that. Maybe they can come up with a computerized system to help the dogs, cats and other animals they get.
A computerized system to link rescue groups with shelters and transportation groups would be a good idea.
There are groups that take certain types of dogs.  I remember Villalobos. I have watched quite a few episodes. It is a great rescue. There are even groups that specialize in rescuing old dogs.

There are groups like truckers and pilots who will transport animals.
These groups do have some contact, but if it were better coordinated then over crowded shelters would have somewhere to turn for help.
I think increasingly euthanasia is being seen as NOT THE ANSWER. Finding homes when ever possible is the way of the future.
I am so glad Suzy found her way to you. You are perfect for each other.
