Stress in lab animals effects research results...why animal research doesn't work

A study of lab animals themselves showed that they are stressed by the conditions they are kept in. Lab cages are totally unsuitable for rats and mice. Just living like that leaves them very stressed.
These stressed animals make poor research subjects. The data collected frequently doesn't correlate to humans. Drugs that show promise (in stressed out lab animals) fail to have good results when tested on humans.
The conclusion is that it matters how lab animals are kept. Unhappy stressed animals do not make good lab subjects.

This really should have been obvious. If the animals are distressed how can they  be useful to us to test medications intended for non stressed humans.
This is really just more confirmation that testing on animals does not work. It is a waste of animals lives and it is a waste of medical resources.
It would be a good thing if lab animals were housed better. It would be better if we stopped using lab animals. They just don't give us meaningful data and their suffering and deaths are for nothing.
