Warning issued after Ball Python spotted in Alberta camp ground

Ball Pythons are a small snake, originally from Africa. They are kept as pets so this snake is actually a lost pet.
They are warning that the snake is a danger to small pets. That would be true if you took your hamster camping.
The snake isn't really much of a danger to local wildlife. It will die as soon as the weather turns colder. Up in the Rocky Mountains that will be sooner than you think.

This article shows a typical attitude to snakes. It should be a lost pet alert asking for help to rescue a pet that is lost in the mountains. Instead they have issued an alert as if there were a dangerous animal on the loose. 
I just checked the weather for the Kananaskis area and it may be in the 30c range during the day, but it is dropping to 14C and even as low as 7C at night.
Ball Pythons do not do well below 24C. There s little chance that the snake can survive. One cold night will probably kill it. 
So much for the warning that there is a dangerous animal loose. There is actually an animal in danger loose. Sadly it is probably already dead.
