Is it ethical to wear vintage fur?
#1
Wearing fur is already a very touchy subject. The whole fur industry is filled with animal cruelty and a lot of other issues.
Vintage fur is fur from years ago, even generations ago. There is no way to know where the fur came from. Does that make it ethical? Does that make it not ethical? What can you do with an old fur coat? What should you do with an old fur coat?

This is a complex issue. We don't accept the fur industry now. What about your grandmother's coat?
There are good arguments from all sides of the issue.

My grandmother as a young woman actually had a beaver coat that would have been made with trapped beaver pelts.
It was stolen while she was still young. (That was about 120 years ago)  I am relieved that it was stolen. I don't have to face the issue of what to do with it.
I loved my grandmother, but a beaver coat, I couldn't wear that.

I do know that furs can be donated to wildlife centers to keep orphaned wildlife warm. Since fur trapping has probably orphaned a lot of animals over the years, maybe this is the only way to balance things.
