A wildfire spread rapidly towards Bambalela Wildlife Sanctuary. The place is home to 200 rescue animals, many who are damaged and helpless.
The staff stayed and fought the fire as long as they could. In the end they had to release animals so they could escape the smoke.
Since the fire ended they have found all the animals, except for six monkeys. Sadly 80% of the land has been burned and they have lost their grazing land.
They are now desperate to find food for the animals.

What a heart break to lose so much when the sanctuary is doing so much good. They kept the animals alive during the fire and now they are in danger of starvation. I hope there is some way to get food to the animals and to restore what was lost. I am sure the dedicated staff are not giving up.
I wish them every success.
