Escaped Capybara probably doing very well
#1
A Capybara escaped from her enclosure in a small zoo in Telford. near the Humber Brook River. She slipped out the gate when they came in to cut the grass.
They plan to search for her using a drone and a thermal camera. She is not dangerous and is probably not in danger. Still it would be good to reunite her with her family.

This is a bit like the capybara escape in Toronto's High Park a number of years ago. The capybaras were quite fine and had settled down to live wild in the park.
No doubt Cinnamon is doing the same thing. She is in an area of marshes and streams. It is perfect for her. Capybaras love water and they eat vegetation.
She is surrounded by that.  I hope they find her for her own safety. Winter could be a bit much for her. Still it is fun to thing of the adventure she is having.

Capybaras are adaptable and capable of surviving. I wonder why they haven't spread further in the world. Lots of other species have spread. Possums seem to be turning up everywhere. Why not capybaras.
