It is currently illegal to lift chickens by their legs. The practice causes them a lot of distress and can cause serious injuries.
The new Labour government plans the change the law to make it legal to carry chickens by the legs.

What they propose is a cruel practice that was outlawed. So when it comes to protecting animals from cruelty, they are taking a step backward.
This change back will cause suffering for many chickens. It will save a negligible amount of money per egg.
