Orcas wearing dead salmon

In the 1980s Orcas went through a phase where they swam around with dead salmon on their heads. No one ever figured out why. Was it a weird fad or a strange fashion statement? Who knows. Then they stopped doing it. And now someone has a picture of an orca with a dead salmon on its head.
Are they doing it again?

It would be interesting if they are doing the dead salmon thing again. We might be able to figure it out this time.
When I think of it, a dead salmon on the head is no stranger than some of the weird fashion statements of the 1960s.
I just hope no one still has pictures.
