Animal shelter with no social media presence is failing the animals
#1
For some reason Vancouver Animal Shelter has no social media presence. Other shelters in the area do have social media presence and it helps them to get the animals adopted. With out some form of online presence people are unaware of the animals in need of homes. Animals sit at the shelter for extended times because no one knows they are there.

Animal shelters are not meant to be a secret. The community needs to know they are there. People need to know what animals are there.
They refused to let a film crew in even though it would have been good, free publicity.
I know sometimes we find social media annoying, but it does get information out to the public.
That is a real help for fundraising and finding forever homes for shelter animals.
People looking for pets go to other shelters because they know they are there.
Meanwhile animals sit in cages at the Vancouver Animal Shelter.
It is a good shelter, but too few people know about it.
