China removes Pangolin scales from its list of approved medicines

This is an important step toward protecting Pangolins. They are trafficked because of their use in traditional medicines. If Pangolin scales are no longer listed as a traditional medicine, then there will be a decline in their use. Hopefully that leads to a decline in animal trafficking.

It won't stop suddenly, but there should be some improvement for Pangolins. Some people will not change, so Pangolins will still be at risk. However some people will make other medicinal choices. In time the use of Pangolin scales will decline. I just hope it isn't too little too late for the Pangolins to survive.
