We have just lost one of the most significant animal lovers of all time. Jane Goodall transformed our understanding of Chimpanzees and ultimately transformed our understanding of animals. She advocated for them and she advocated for the planet.

In true Jane Goodall style, she was still working and on a speaking tour when she died. She never stopped working for the planet and she never lost hope in our future. We need to learn for her example.

She was a beautiful person. No wonder the chimps loved her.

I think the most significant thing she did was actually look at the animals and see what they were doing.
Too many people project their own thoughts onto the animal they are watching and are ultimately seeing what they expect to see.
Jane looked at the chimps. She saw them and respected what she saw. I think her example has transformed animal research.
It has certainly transformed our understanding of primates.
Jane, we will miss you. It has been a privilege to live on the planet at the same time as you.
