Should the dog from Good Boy get an Oscar

I haven't see the movie, yet, but I should. The dog does an amazing performance. It is his movie.
So why isn't he getting an Oscar? Right now they have no category for animal actors. They should have one. How many movies have there been where the animal makes the movie.

So yes the dog should get an Oscar. They can make a new category and he can be the first winner.
