New school delayed so reptiles can be moved to new location
#1
A school was about to be moved to a new location. Then the area was found to be inhabited by common lizards and slow worms. Slow worms are actually a legless lizard. Both species give birth rather than laying eggs. Slow worms are declining in numbers so it is important that they be protected.

It is fantastic that they held up a building project for the sake of the animals that live in the area.
I wish more places would do this. Species would not have been lost if we had protected them this well.
