In 2017, a student dug a pond as a school project. She researched how to do it and withing the year the pond was holding water.
No animals were released in the pond. They just showed up. Now 9 years later the pond in triving.

There were frogs and other wildlife in the area already. Once they found it, the pond provided a new place for them to live.
If we provide for nature it will respond. Water sources are especially important. Putting in the right plants for pollinators in a garden will attract them.
I wanted to grow milkweed for monarch butterflies. I started a wildflower garden and the milkweed showed up. Somehow the seeds found my space.
If you make the first step, nature will respond. Your efforts won't be wasted.
