Toronto Bee rescue
#3
That is wonderful news. Let's hope these projects can help the survival of the bees. (For our sake as well as theirs!)

I have heard before that urban bees do so much better than rural bees. They have more varied forage, and fewer pesticides to contend with. We should all bear this in mind...we can all help, in a town or city. A packet of wildflower seeds scattered on any bare earth or on an old dump site... (bees don't mind if there are old tyres, or tin cans mixed in with their flowers!) And what does a packet of seeds cost? Very little.
We can plant our city gardens -even rooftop gardens or large patio pots, with flowers and be careful what we spray there.
Even the many weeds which are allowed to grow are beneficial to the bees. Some 'weeds' have the most beautiful flowers.
