14 endangered species, 40 years later

I notice that one of the birds vanished after they flooded its nesting grounds. So there have been some wins and loses, but if the list hadn't been started more species would be gone.

There are other species that are not on that list that were extinct in the wild. There were enough in zoos to create a healthy breeding gene pool. After years of work there are enough now that they have been able to return them to the wild. Prezwalskis horses are one success story. Black footed ferrets and Bison have survived because we worked to save them.

We may have caused the problem, but at least we are working to save as many species as we can.
I like to believe that we can fix enough of the damage to make things work.
I am proud of Canada's part in this, but a lot of other countries have done good work too.
