Sea turtle dies from being fed coins

The turtle was called Piggy Bank because people fed her coins. It was supposed to bring them luck. It didn't bring Piggy Bank luck. The coins formed a mass in her stomach that weighed her down and nearly drowned her. The surgeons removed 915 coins.
It looked luck she might recover, but sadly no she did not.

It seems that feeding coins to turtles is a common practice and it shortens their lives. If any good can come from Piggy Bank's death it will be the publicity about how wrong and how dangerous it is to feed coins to turtles.
