VW animal testing scandal
#1
Volkswagen has been caught in an animal testing scandal. The tests involved deliberately exposing monkeys to the fumes of diesel engines for hours on end.

It is not even clear what they were trying to prove with the tests. The monkeys suffered for nothing.
Now that it has become public Volkswagen is working to distance itself from the animal study.

They can distance themselves now and they can fire people that were responsible. However, they should have been aware of what was being done in their name. There should have been some oversight of any testing that was done. It shouldn't have come as a surprize that monkeys were used to test their cars. They had a responsibility to know what was being done.
I didn't know, is not much of an excuse when you are responsible for the running of the company.

I hope there are some consequences for this.
