Lions are being bred on farms in South Africa and they are being killed for their bones. The bones are shipped to Asian markets where they are quite valuable. South African law allows for the shipping of lion bones. It is stretching the law to deliberately kill the lions for their bones. but it is not illegal.

It is horrible to think of lions being hunted to satisfy the trade in lion bones. It is worse to think that they are being bred for this purpose and deliberately killed.

It turns out trophy hunters are not the worse after all. Trophy hunters are still bad, but this is worse.
