The killer whale J50 from the southern population has been ailing for some time and biologists have been working to save her.
She disappeared last week and it was feared she was lost. Happily she has been spotted again and they will give her more antibiotics to try and help her.

This has been a real battle to save her life. She is from the same pod as the whale who carried her dead baby for 17 days.
They need all the help we can give them. Human activity has caused so much trouble for these whales. Keeping even one more member of the pod alive could help the survival of this particular pod.
We are all relieved to hear that she is alive.
