The farms could produce all kinds of good things and the farmers could be proud of what they are doing. It is a situation where everyone wins, the humans and the animals.  

If they could get the government to help they could run a program that helps farmers transition to actual farming. There must be many choices for farmers that would be better than the dog meat industry.

All around the world we need to look at what we are doing and phase out things that involve cruelty. Increasingly people no longer find cruelty acceptable. It doesn't make sense to cling to a  means of supporting ones family in a way that involves cruelty.
It would be better to try and change as soon as possible. I wonder how many of the dog meat farmers actually want to change, but don't know how.
