My best soup was "refrigerator" soup. When I had a set of room mates, on Friday nights, we would pull the week's leftovers out of the frig, toss them all into the soup pot and cook them up into soup.
The week we had leftover gravy, creamed corn, mashed potatoes and a whole pile of other things, it was a great soup. I still remember it after 40 years. I still remember the peanut butter pumpkin soup. I haven't made that in awhile. Sigh. I need to do some soup making again.
