Many adoptions this Christmas.
#1
A number of animal shelters had a good season of adoptions. Many shelter animals are in forever homes because people decided they want to start the year with an animal companion...or two.

Toronto had a good adoption rate.

One shelter ran out of adoptable dogs. That is a good problem to have.

Calgary Humane Society had a very good season.

I am sure there are many more stories like this. People sometimes choose to bring a pet home around Christmas because they will be home for a few days to bond with their new companion.  The fact that shelters had so many people adopt pets is an indication that people are adopting not buying. There are perfectly good pets just waiting and hoping for a forever home. It is a good trend that people are seeking those animals when they want a pet. I would love to see empty cages at an animal shelter. I means animals are in forever homes. Let's hope 2020 is even better for adoptions.
