Catslave, you were wise to take out insurance on Edward. You never know when something can happen.
Our Humane Society has a low cost vet clinic. I know they do vaccinations and neutering at reduced cost. I am not sure what else they do. They do take in injured animals, but the owner probably has to surrender the pet if they can't afford a vet. People don't want to give up their pets. That is the point of groups that help with vets bills. They enable people to keep their pets.
