Pandemic decreases the consumption of wildlife

Prior to Covid 19 there was a strong market for wildlife in Asia and other parts of the world. Now with increasing awareness of where viruses come from and how they are transmitted,  many people have stopped eating wildlife. Some will still want exotic food no matter what the dangers, but many people have rejected 
it.  Farms that raised things like snakes as food, no longer have a market for the animals. There are changes happening on the government level in some areas and there are changes in people's behavior.

This is a good thing and not just because it makes humans safer. It will prevent a lot of animal cruelty. It will give wild populations a chance to recover.
Now only time will tell if the change is long term. For many reasons it needs to be a permanent. We cannot continue to treat nature the way we have in the past. There need to be changes. If there are not changes there will be consequences for us. We know that now.
