Komodo Dragons in danger of extinction
#1
Sad
The Komodo Dragons, the world's largest lizard, are now in serious danger of extinction. They are threatened by rising sea levels and loss of habitat due to human activity. Komodo Dragons live in a very limited area of three islands. They need a certain habitat and altitude. They live in open savannah on the edge of a forest.
Loss of habitat is also fragmenting their gene pool. Lizards are less able to interact outside of their immediate area.
Without intervention these amazing lizards could be lost forever.

I can see why they need to be near trees. The young hatchlings climb trees to avoid being eaten. Without the normal habitat it will be hard for them to survive.
Without the young lizards surviving the species has little hope. The species is not going to be able to adapt to a lot of change. They have evolved to live under certain conditions. They only live in a limited part of the world. We can live anywhere. Why do we need to use the land the Komodo Dragons need to survive.

We are responsible for global warming too. The endangered state of the world's largest lizard is all our fault. We need to act to save them.
