If you have ever been anywhere near a cat, you know that they knock things over. They real question is why do they do it.
It seems people are actually studying this and trying to answer the question.

It makes sense that they do it to get our attention. Except for the fact that cats will knock thing over when you are not home.
They do it because they want to do it. Does a cat need any other reason for anything?
