The slaughter has been going on for so long that supporting it is just something that has always been done by the government. It would take conscious thought and deliberate choices to actually stop it. I think too many things like this are more of a habit for a country. If we really look at it, we don't support the slaughter and the rest of the world doesn't want it either. It is just hard to stop something that has been going on for a long time. We can do it, but it is proving harder to end than we thought.
