Splooting squirrels

In the really hot weather squirrels sploot. Other animals sploot too.
Yes, sploot is a real word. It describes an animal that is spread out lying on its belly. 
Squirrels and other mammals use it as a way to lose heat in the hot weather.
The fur on the belly is thinner. If the squirrel lies on a cooler surface the thinner fur allows it to cool off a little.

So we learned a new word. It is very descriptive of how the squirrels look. So we could say it is so hot even the squirrels are splooting.
It makes you wonder what other interesting words are out there to describe animal behavior.
