Ontario's unofficial Official Animal!

People have been voting for weeks now. We started with a list of 16 Ontario animals. They were all good choices. It finally narrowed down to the loon or the snapping turtle. It is hard to believe, but the Snapping Turtle won. 

The Snapping Turtle is Ontario's unofficial Official Animal.

For a creature that has been around since the dinosaurs, it is finally nice to get recognition.
They are cute in an odd way, and they are pretty tough.

I have not actually seen one in the wild, but someday I am sure I will.
