I checked out the site and thank-you for posting it.
I assumed that Australian Shepherds came from Australia. Interesting how they named them for Australia. I would have called them Basque shepherds or California Shepherds.
Now I know of their North American origins, I understand why I see so many of them in Toronto. There are a lot of Merles and they really are as beautiful as their pictures. There are a lot of crosses with the Aussies. The one I saw recently was an Aussie-doodle. One parent standard poodle, the other an Australian shepherd and definitely a people "person". He loves to ride the subways and be around people. He was bigger than either parent and one of the most magnificent. furry creatures I have ever seen.
