It is the Calgary Stampede so expect horses to die during the chuckwagon races. It has been two dead so far. Also a steer was injured in the steer wrestling competition and had to be euthanized.

Every year animals die and they say they will do something to make it safer. Every year some animals die. Even if the numbers are lower this year, they could still go higher. Even if only one animal died, isn't that one too many. If parts of the stampede cannot be made safe for animals, maybe it is time to omit those parts.
