The Fisheries Department was already in the area when they got the call about an entangled Humpback whale. It was so entangled it could barely surface to breath. It couldn't eat. They didn't know where to start cutting the ropes. It took four days, but they finally freed the whale.

They found gear from the USA and Canada so the whale had traveled so distance since it began its entanglement.
If they hadn't intervened the whale would have died. It was already in bad shape.
We desperately need to clean up the oceans. They rescued this whale, but how many other marine animals die because no one is there to rescue them.
